Blue Tree Acoustics Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) #5Question What is sound insulation testing? Answer Sound insulation testing is the measurement of how much sound is stopped by separating walls or floors between two places. Usually sound insulation testing is undertaken between houses, or between classrooms or hotel rooms and so on. On one side of the wall or floor a controlled noise is generated, then the amount of noise reaching the other side is measured. The sound insulation performance of the test element can then be calculated and compared to the required standard for that type of building. |
